Head of division “tribology & wear protection” at Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing
Dr. Mathias Woydt is head of division 6.3 “Tribology & Wear Protection”, with more than 32 years of experience in R&D of ceramics, ceramic composites, thin film coatings and thermally sprayed coatings, abrasive wear as well as lubricant formu¬lations, environmentally acceptable lubricants and in tribo-testing including their dissemination into industrial applications, more than 270 publications and 51 priority patents filed.
He is chairman of the SRV test methods DIN 51834, parts 1-4, nine ASTM test methods and ISO19291. He has partici-pated in twelve European R&D projects, 6 projects from the German Ministry of Research and Education, three projects of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and in 17 projects from the German Science Foundation. He is vice-president of the German Society for Tribology.
The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a senior scientific and technical Federal institute with responsibility to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. It tests, researches and advises to protect people, the environment and material goods.
